A shallow glazed bowl, raised on a pedestal turned from solid wood.
The shape comes from a footed serving dish rather than from anything designed for an animal. A wide, low basin on a narrow waist that opens out again at the floor. It reads as an object on the way to the table, which is most of the reason to put it in a room you care about.
The rim carries a reactive glaze. It moves in the kiln and settles where it settles, so the amber ring falls at a different depth on every piece and none of it is printed. The body under it stays cream.
The pedestal lifts the basin off the floor, so a cat eats with its head up rather than folded down to the ground. The foot is wide and the weight sits low, which is what keeps the whole thing from skating when a paw lands on the rim.
The bowl lifts out of the base. Nothing clips, nothing threads, nothing needs lining up when it goes back.

Care
The bowl
Warm water and mild soap. Skip abrasive pads — a reactive glaze dulls faster than a flat one, and the surface is where the character lives.
The wood
Wipe with a damp cloth and dry it. Keep it out of the dishwasher and don't leave it standing in water. A drop of mineral oil once or twice a year keeps the grain from going gray.
Everyday use
Lift the bowl out to wash it and set it back once both it and the wood are dry. Water trapped between the two is the one thing worth avoiding.
