A little moisture, and the loose hair stops flying.
Dry brushing lifts the undercoat and then releases it into the air, onto the sofa, onto you. A light mist changes that. Damp hair clumps and stays on the brush instead.
This one holds water in the body and releases it as fine steam through the bristle bed while you brush. The bristles are soft silicone, so the pressure stays on the coat rather than the skin.
It charges by cable and runs quietly, which matters more than it sounds. Grooming tools that whine are grooming tools that get avoided.
On the steamIt is a fine mist, not a hot jet, and it is there to weigh the loose hair down rather than to clean the coat. This is a brush that makes less mess, not a bath replacement.

Care
After each use
Empty any water left in the reservoir and lift the hair off the bristles. Water left standing inside is what shortens these.
Cleaning
Wipe the bristle bed with a damp cloth. Don't submerge the body, and keep it away from the dishwasher.
Water
Plain water. Not shampoo, not conditioner, nothing that foams.
From the founder
The first time I used one I brushed a long-haired cat on a dark sofa and nothing floated away. That was the whole sell for me.
