The glaze is the reason to own it. Reactive glazes are mixed to move in the kiln, so the color pools thick at the base and thins toward the rim, and no two bowls break the same way. The one that arrives will not be identical to the one photographed. That is the nature of the finish rather than a fault in it.
The bowl is straight-sided and heavy enough to stay put. It sits down into the wood rather than clipping to it, so it lifts out with one hand to wash and drops back without anything to line up.
The wood holds the bowl a little off the floor. Not a tall feeder, just enough to take the sharpest angle out of the neck while a cat eats.
Single takes one bowl, for one animal or one purpose. Double sets two side by side, which is how most households feed anyway — food on one side, water on the other, neither one traveling under the cabinets by morning.

Care
The bowls
Warm water and mild soap. Skip abrasive pads — they dull a reactive glaze faster than a flat one, and the surface is where the whole character sits.
The wood
Wipe with a damp cloth and dry it properly. Keep it out of the dishwasher and don't let it stand in a puddle.
Everyday use
Set the bowl back once both it and the wood are dry. A drop of mineral oil on the wood once or twice a year keeps the grain from going gray.
