A bed that rides on the back seat, and stays put when you brake.
A dog loose on a back seat slides on every corner, stands up at every stop, and ends up in the footwell the first time you brake hard. Most of them learn to hate the car because of it.
This sits on the seat and is held there. Two adjustable straps run up over the headrests, so the whole thing stays in place instead of sliding across the bench.
The sides and back are deep and padded, which does two things. It gives them something to lean into on corners rather than bracing against nothing, and it lifts them high enough to see out of the window, which is usually the difference between a dog that settles and a dog that whines.
Inside, a soft mat lifts out for washing, with short tethers and clips that attach to a harness. Three of them, so a wide one takes more than one small dog. There is a pocket on the outside for leads and bags.
On the tethersClip them to a harness, never to a collar. In a sudden stop, a tether on a collar puts the whole force through the neck. This is a restraint that keeps a dog in place and stops them climbing into the front — it is not crash-tested safety equipment, and it should not be sold to you as one.

Care
The inner mat
Lift it out and wash it. It is the part that takes the hair and the muddy paws.
The outer
Spot clean with a damp cloth and let it dry fully. The foam core means it isn't a machine-wash item.
Between trips
It holds its shape, so it can stay in the car. Air it out after a wet walk rather than leaving it damp.
Choosing a size
Small, 95 cm
One small or medium dog. Measure them lying down, nose to tail base, and allow room to turn around.
Large, 120 cm
A bigger dog, or two small ones. It takes up most of a back bench, so check your seat width first.
From the founder
Our dog used to brace against the seat the whole way anywhere. The first drive in one of these she lay down before we left the street.
