Small enough to get to the back teeth, soft enough to be allowed in.
Dental disease is the most common thing vets find in dogs and cats, and it starts at the back of the mouth where nobody looks.
The head here is small and the bristles are soft silicone rather than nylon. That combination is what lets you reach the rear molars without the whole thing turning into a wrestling match.
The handle is one piece of flexible silicone, long enough to keep your fingers out of the way.
On starting outDon't begin by brushing. Let them lick a little pet toothpaste off the brush for a few days first, then touch it to one or two teeth, then build up. Going straight to a full clean on day one is how most people end up with a brush in a drawer.

Care
After each use
Rinse under warm water and stand it somewhere it can dry fully.
Replacing it
When the bristles splay out, it has stopped cleaning properly. Same rule as your own brush.
Important
Never use human toothpaste. The fluoride and xylitol in it are toxic to dogs and cats.
From the founder
Nobody enjoys this one. But a dental cleaning under anesthetic costs several hundred dollars, and this costs twenty-five.
