The step up is 15", about a dining chair seat. Most grown, healthy cats manage it without trouble. For young kittens and older cats with stiff joints, a low open box is kinder.
Scoop daily: lift the lid, scoop, close. For a full change, separate the top and bottom halves, empty the litter, and wash both with mild soap and water. Dry fully before refilling.
Any clumping litter works. Fill it 2–3 inches deep. The high walls hold a little more without spilling.
