Porcelain is dense and glazed. It doesn't hold on to smells the way plastic does, and it wipes clean without scratching, which is why it keeps looking new long after a steel bowl has gone cloudy.
The stand lifts both bowls off the floor and keeps them from traveling across it at mealtimes. Food on one side, water on the other.
Each bowl holds about three and a half cups. The bowls lift straight out of the stand to wash.
On the nameCarrara is where the white marble comes from. These bowls borrow the look, not the stone. They are porcelain, and the gray swirl varies from bowl to bowl, so yours will not match the photograph exactly.

Care
The bowls
Dishwasher or hand wash in warm water with mild soap. Skip abrasive pads, which dull the glaze over time.
The stand
Wipe with a damp cloth and dry it. Keep it out of the dishwasher and don't leave it standing in water.
Everyday use
Set the bowls back once both they and the stand are dry. Water trapped between porcelain and wood is the one thing worth avoiding.
